Lost Coast Kennel Club Dog Show Parking

Each year at the annual Dog Show event in July, Soroptimist members assist the Lost Coast Kennel Club on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with parking.  We collect fees, direct traffic, and enjoy seeing the numerous breeds of dogs that enter the show.

Shoe Box Program

Shoes are purchased for school-age children who need adequate shoes to attend school.  School counselors in the Eel River Valley work with SIERV to support this program along with the Fortuna Family Resource Center who manages the distribution of the shoes.
Thank you to the Eel River Valley Foundation for donating to our program!  Soroptimist President Debbie Scaife is with member Kay Chapman who received the donation on behalf of the Fortuna Family Resource Center from ERVF President Pam Murphy.

School Library Book Program

For over 25 years, library books have been donated to elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the Eel River Valley.  The books are distributed to the school librarians and administrators at an annual Library Breakfast in January.    Our Bunco for Books events generates the funds to make this happen!

Dream It, Be It Program

Dream it, Be It: Career Support for Girls gives girls the tools they need to achieve their education and career goals, empowering them to break cycles of poverty, violence, and abuse.
Soroptimist International of Eel River Valley's Dream It, Be It program was held at Fortuna East High on March 13, April 10, and May 8, 2024.  We had a great time working with the young women who attended!  Look forward to 2025 to continue supporting girls achieve their dreams.
